This is a key role in Education Services (Student and Academic Services): a team dedicated to providing expertise in education design, delivery, and continuous improvement to enable the delivery of the University’s research-inspired Education Strategy.
As Academic Developer, you will support the development, management and delivery of academic professional development, including the University’s accredited experiential route to Advance HE recognition (PEERS). You will help academic staff to develop their practice and enable them to offer a flexible and inclusive approach to curriculum and assessment design.
You will be working alongside educational quality assurance and enhancement practitioners and be part of the team providing high-level pedagogic and operational advice and guidance on the design, delivery and assessment of inclusive curricula.
You will be educated to first degree level with FHEA status and an excellent knowledge of the UK Professional Standards Framework and the work of Advance HE. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience of designing, delivering and evaluating professional development programmes and associated resources.
You must have excellent knowledge of curriculum design principles and inclusive assessment strategies, with experience of supporting curriculum design projects in academic schools and ideally of contributing to the implementation of strategies at an institutional level.
You will work with a wide range of stakeholders across the University and externally so must be able to build effective working relationships and generate confidence and enthusiasm in others.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Matthew Mobbs SFHEA (Education Strategy, Projects and Analytics Manager, Education Services), email: mjm33@le.ac.uk.
We anticipate that interview will take place on 28th July 2022.
As a diverse and forward-thinking employer, we embed the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion into everything we do. That includes not just our core missions of teaching and research, but also our support for staff, students and our local community.
