University of Kent Hiring for Finance Officer Job at Chatham, England Full Time

If you have experience in a finance or accounting role and you are looking for your next career move, this full-time Finance Office role with the Digital and Lifelong Learning (DaLL) team at the University of Kent may be the perfect step for you.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills alongside numeracy, attention to detail and an aptitude for analysing data and reporting. The role is based at our Medway campus and will see you overseeing the financial administration for DaLL, including the processes associated with the department’s apprenticeship provision, ensuring compliance with the Education and Skills Funding Agency rules as well as the University’s financial regulations.

You’ll be joining a dedicated team and expected to use your initiative, prioritising a busy workload and drawing upon your experience to problem solve while maintaining a high level of customer service.

As Finance Officer you will get involved in:

• monitoring income and expenditure against budgets, analysing and producing reports and forecasts;
• providing financial guidance and advice to staff;
• working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the Individual Learner Return is accurate and submitted to deadline;
• managing the Finance Administrator.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• a foundation level financial qualification (e.g. AAT), actively studying towards full qualification, or be willing to undertake this (or equivalent);
• good IT skills and experience of using spreadsheets and databases on a regular basis;
• experience of answering enquiries, particularly of a financial nature;
• the ability to build and maintain good working relationships.

The department of Digital and Lifelong Learning at Kent was established to build on this experience to help deliver apprenticeships and academic programmes tailored to learner and employer needs.
