The Law School at the University of Huddersfield is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Law. With a distinguished history of teaching law and excellent professional links at a regional and national level, we have reached a pivotal point and are expanding our team and investing in the future.

Sitting within Huddersfield Business School, the Law School has recently moved into a new building with its own dedicated Moot Court, has submitted to the Research Excellence Framework and sits within a University as one of only two in the region to achieve a gold award in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

You will join a growing, vibrant and friendly team dedicated to providing an excellent student experience. Our core values include the ability to work closely with colleagues in a mutually supportive environment and having a professional work ethic.

We encourage the delivery of creative and engaging teaching and the ability to contribute to a growing research culture designed to encourage high quality publications and impact.

You should already hold a PhD in Law or equivalent area; be able to provide evidence of successful and excellent teaching in the areas listed below; and demonstrate strong research and/or potential for achieving quality publications and establishing an international reputation. A teaching qualification or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy is a requirement or the capacity to achieve this within the first year of employment.

We are looking for candidates with who can teach Environmental Law. An additional ability to offer foundational course teaching such as in Torts and/or EU Law is welcomed as are applications from legal practitioners able to meet the essential criteria.
