University of Huddersfield Hiring for IT Digital Purchasing Specialist Job at Huddersfield, England Full Time

Permanent, 37 hours per week

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic person to work within the IT Purchasing Team as part of the Computing and Library Services Department which supports the Schools and Services of the University.

The role involves supporting the University’s Digital Strategy working closely with the Desktop Support and IT Purchasing Manager and the IT Purchasing Team Leader in providing an effective IT purchasing service to the University. A good understanding of the IT Purchasing lifecycle is required including providing appropriate advice on the procurement and purchasing of new systems, hardware, AV, networking, and IT services including mobile and software related technologies.

The role includes ensuring all procurements made in these areas are compliant. Managing and running tenders and mini competitions is also a requirement for the role working alongside our central procurement team to implement procurement strategies. It also involves working with staff in appropriate Schools/Services as well as senior staff in Computing and Library Services.

You will have proven experience of working in a busy procurement setting and building good working relationships in a customer-centred environment. You will also have a good understanding of IT and will have experience of working with electronic tender systems, negotiating with suppliers, and analysing and producing procurement data with the ability to produce reportsdashboards. You will have a flexible, methodical, and hard-working approach, combined with good oral and written communication skills The ability to work as part of a team but also at times independently is essential.
