Prepares and edits research papers, proposal, and reports. Performs
advanced testing procedures and analyses of data. May prepare
samples for testing. Performs advanced testing procedure and
performs analyses of data. Makes uses of a variety of specialized
equipment typical within area of specialization. May contribute to
grant proposal development. Ensures experiments are performed
according to specifications. May make recommendations to changes in
procedure, processes, or experimental design. Understands and

specialized scientific or engineering field. Develops leadership
and management skills.Duties: Assignments are difficult and broad
requiring originality and ingenuity. May be assisted by lower level

POSITION OBJECTIVE

We have Researcher 2 opportunities to advance new solutions
microchip electrophoresis, wearable electrochemical sensors, red
blood cell biology, and mic rovascular thromboinflammatory
responses. The candidate with a minor supervision from the
principle investigator, will be responsible primarily to plan and
conduct independently, the research work with human blood samples
in the below and other areas: 1) Extracellular vesicle generation
and collection; 2) Endothelial cell culture; 3) In vitro adhesion
and thrombosis assay using endothelialized channels; 4) Paper-based
electrophoresis; 5) wearable electrochemical sensor
development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Plan, coordinate, and perform research work related to: 1)
   Electrochemical based biosensing; 2) Paper-based electrophoresis
   in-vitro diagnostic tests; 3) Vascular-on-a-chip model for
   microfluidic cell adhesion and thrombi formation assay; and 4)
   ELISA, Western Blot, PCR, and other conventional analytical tools
   for cell signaling. (70%)
2. Work closely with the principal investigator for analyzing and
   summarizing results (10%)
3. Perform complex research assignments of a non-routine nature
   for exploratory studies, including new in-vitro assay design,
   testing, verification and validation; as well as new protocol and
   technique development for research projects involving a high degree
   of skill and training (20%)
4. Will co-author research projects.

Qualifications :

Bachelors and 3 years experience

Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years experience.

with postdoc research associate towards executing research
projects.

University: Weekly contact with other departments and core
facilities to use, exchange materials and information. Regular
contact with CWRU facilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Bachelor’s degree in biology/engineering-related major
and 3 to 5 years of experience or Master’s degree in
biology/engineering-related major and 0-5 years of experience
working in a biomedical research laboratory.

REQUIRED SKILLS

1. Experience working with human blood sample.
2. Wet-lab experience.
3. Cell culture experience is preferred
4. Molecular biology experience (DNA extraction, PCR, Western
   Blotting) is preferred but not required
5. Able to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to
   perform the functions of job.
6. Ability to learn and apply new techniques, ideas, processes,
   policies, functions, etc. Must be highly motivated and a
   self-starter.
7. Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
8. Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors and customers
   face-to-face.
9. Ability to meet consistent attendance.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires working in a biomedical research laboratory
environment and working with frequent interactions with adjoining
laboratories and vendors
