University of Houston Hiring for Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at Houston, TX Full Time

The Department of Management and Insurance & Risk Management (MGTI) of the Marilyn Davies College of Business (MDCOB), at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) invites applicants for a tenure track position in Management with a focus in strategic management, at the Assistant Professor level, to begin in August 2022. The selected candidate will have teaching responsibilities including but not limited to combinations of the following courses at the undergraduate level – MGT 4302 (Strategic Management), MGT 3301 (Principles of Management), or graduate-level – MBA 6340 (Supporting the Business Strategy), MBA 6202 (Strategic Management), and/or MBA 6216 (Capstone). Given the needs of MDCOB students, successful candidates must be willing to teach a variety of days, times, and modalities (i.e., face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats). Faculty are expected to teach courses offered at the primary campus located in downtown Houston, as well as off-campus locations located in suburban, northwest Houston. The ideal candidate will be interested in collaborating and promoting student success in an outcomes-based environment. This includes continuous improvement in undergraduate and graduate curriculum design and delivery. As shared governance is an important component of our culture, we expect engaged and collaborative peer leadership in our department, college and university. The successful candidate will exhibit strong potential/evidence for excellence in teaching and service and high-quality research. Research quality is measured by widely used journal ranking indices (e.g., ABDC List) and one’s contribution.

Candidates positioned for the Assistant Professor position should have a terminal degree in management with a focus in strategy (ABDs will be considered at the Assistant level, with Ph.D. completed by August 2022).
