**Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire appointments, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits provided to regular Board of Regents or Civil Service employees. Casual Hire appointments may last up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.**

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist faculty committee designing a proposal to plan a PhD in Hawaiian Knowledge at Hawaiinuiakea School of Hawaiian Knowledge.

Provide entry level support with communications, research and writing, and design of the proposal.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Hawaiian Language, Hawaiian Studies or closely related field

One year of academic or business work experience

Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software

Ability to use meeting software such as Zoom

Excellent organizational skills

Desired Qualifications:
Proficiency in the Hawaiian language (3 years of college level Hawaiian or equivalent)

Experience working in team setting
