The School of Education is a part of the highly impactful Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences at the University of Greenwich.
Home to the Schools of Human Sciences, Health Sciences and Education, the Faculty has a strong focus on professional and workforce development, with long-established and extensive partnerships across a wide range of professional sectors. From social work to psychology, midwifery to mental health and early years to higher education, we are committed to delivering an academically challenging experience that provides a sound foundation for practice. Reporting to the Head of the School of Education, you will support the head in providing strategic and operational leadership for your school, covering many disciplines. You will provide strong academic leadership and vision for your School driven by a commitment to Teaching and Student Experience, Research and Knowledge Exchange.
The holder of this role will provide strategic and operational leadership for the School that covers a wide range of educational disciplines. They will act as an advocate for change, setting and meeting targets, adapting to challenges and influencing staff in the School to deliver its strategic priorities.
The post holder will be expected to provide leadership and set standards of excellence.
Successful candidates will act as an advocate for change and will have experience at the senior manager level within education or industry-based organisation of comparable size and complexity. The successful candidate must also have a PhD degree or equivalent professional practice in a relevant subject.
The role of Deputy Head of School is for an initial period of three years. The role holder’s period of office may be extended beyond this initial three-year period subject to outstanding performance and review.
