Job Description:
The Admissions Officer II is responsible for organizing recruitment
and other events on behalf of the Office of Admissions. As part of
the University’s goal to recruit diverse and talented students from
Florida and outside of Florida, the Office of Admissions hosts
prospective and admitted student events both on campus and
nationwide throughout the year. Other duties include supporting the
Office of Admissions by organizing meetings and events, performing
other administrative tasks associated with events and programs,
assisting with freshman review, and responding to inquiries in
person as well as by phone, email, and virtual platforms.
The Admissions Event Coordinator will organize events and meetings
on behalf of the Office of Admissions. The incumbent will research
and arrange for appropriate facilities, food, transportation, and
other logistics, ensuring that expenses stay within budget.
Incumbent will work closely with other Admissions staff to ensure
that the contact information of invitees, invitations, registration
systems and other necessary event planning resources are delivered
accurately and on time. The Event Coordinator will also work
closely with Enrollment Management’s Business Services Office to
review contracts and invoices to ensure accurate event set-up and
payments are made. The Event Coordinator will be the on-site
coordinator, where appropriate, for on campus Office of Admissions’
events.
Provides general admissions counseling, assists with holistic
freshman application review, and post-admissions decision
application processing. During peak busy periods and when territory
managers are traveling, assists with meeting with prospective
students, answering phone calls, responding to email, and other on
campus counseling duties. The incumbent will participate in the
decision recommendation process and assist with application
finalization for enrolling students.
The Event Coordinator will provide general support for recruitment
events. The position will maintain the outreach and recruitment
phone extension and email accounts. In addition, the position will
supervise student workers that assist with Office of Admissions’
programming.
The Event Coordinator will provide back-up support for travel
coordination for Admissions Officers to include managing the travel
email account, sending requested stock to staff and alumni, working
with Admissions Officers and EM Business Services Office personnel
to ensure appropriate documents are received to process PCard
payments and travel reimbursements. The incumbent will also assist
in assigning staff and alumni to participate in college fairs and
other travel programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Expected Salary:
$41,500 annually
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in
an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Valid Driver’s License is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work and
communicate across a variety of cultures.
Ability to exercise good judgment and work with minimal
supervision.
Demonstrated abilities in leadership, problem solving, and
attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
