CAHSS/Economics/Student Support Office
Full-Time, Open Ended, 35 Hours Per Week
We are looking for a Lead Student Support Officer (LSSO), a key position in the Student Support team in the School of Economics. The post holder will be responsible for reviewing, administering and delivering the services and systems that support our Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate Taught (PGT) student community.
The Opportunity:
The post holder will ensure that strong student support is provided in line with the University and CAHSS aim of enhancing the student experience. The postholder will work to both implement and coordinate the service and subsequently develop the administrative and support mechanisms within the School relating to student support. The post holder will be the line manager of the School’s two Student Support Officers, and will be a leading member of the Student Review Team to coordinate support for students of concern within the School and manage the allocation of cases among the Student Support team.
The post will be directly line managed by the Teaching and Student Services Manager and also work closely with the Manager of Student Welfare to ensure good systems are in place for pastoral care, and the integration of student support with student welfare and experience. The post holder will also work very closely with the UG and PG team managers, and the Senior Personal Tutor and Personal Tutors (PTs) for UG and PGT regarding day-to-day issues and communication.
