UE08: £42,149 pa – £50,296 pa or UE09: £53,348 pa – £60,022 pa, depending on experience

5 year fixed-term contract, with expectation of move to open-ended contract, subject to successful review in year 4.

Full-time, 35 hours per week

We are looking for a new Principal Investigator to fill the position of Academic Track Lecturer (Reproductive Biology) within Edinburgh Medical School: Biomedical Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. The post-holder will join a team that are responsible for delivering reproductive biology teaching across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in biomedical sciences, and will also run an independent reproductive biology-related research programme. An undergraduate degree and postgraduate (PhD or MD) qualification in an area relevant to reproductive biology is required.

The Opportunity:

To carry out research alongside world-class scientists investigating a range of basic, pre-clinical and clinical aspects of reproduction and reproductive health within Edinburgh Medical School, and to develop and support the teaching of reproductive biology to undergraduate and graduate students .

Your skills and attributes for success:

• Undergraduate degree and postgraduate (PhD or MD) qualification in an area relevant to reproductive biology.
• Evidence of ability to organise, deliver and assess undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in reproductive biology
• Willingness to undertake academic administration and management of relevant teaching activities.
• Evidence of postdoctoral level skills and expertise in an area of reproductive biology research that complements ongoing research within the Deanery of Biomedical Sciences (BMS) and Edinburgh Medical School , including a strong record of publications as first or senior/corresponding author.
• Evidence of independence and initiative in conceiving and driving research projects, including engagement in inter-disciplinary collaborations.
