LECTURER IN EDUCATION (Teaching & Research)

(Educational Psychology) Grade 8 – Up to 1FTE – combinations of FTE available

We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Lecturer within our Educational Psychology team. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research in Educational Psychology and education more broadly. The successful candidate will primarily work in the MSc Educational Psychology programme with the possibility of contributing to other professional programmes. The successful candidates will also be expected to engage with wider University and professional communities.

The successful candidate will be expected to take an active role in this academic community.

The successful candidate will be a practising Educational Psychologist with relevant years’ experience and have a strong interest in training, continuing professional development, and the future of the professions of education including educational psychology, social work and community education. Applicants should be an HCPC registered practitioner psychologist.

Your priorities will include:
  • Providing excellent teaching and learning experiences for students within Educational Psychology
  • Producing research and scholarly outputs aligned with one of the School’s or Institute of Social Science Research’s (ISSR) research themes
  • Participating in service and leadership activities
  • Contributing to public engagement, impact and enterprise activities
Who we’re looking for:
  • Expertise in Educational Psychology
  • Experience of providing high quality education to students in higher education programmes and supporting EP trainees
  • Experience in an EP role within a Local Authority (minimum of four years)
  • The ability to produce high quality research
  • A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and to help
