University of Cambridge Hiring for Senior Finance Advisor Job at Cambridge, East of England, England Full Time

The role supports the School Finance Manager, in developing and supporting sound financial and accounting procedures across the School of Technology, and in its departments and institutes.

The Role This role provides financial advice and support to the School of Technology. The role holder will develop, implement and monitor the operation of School-wide financial policies and be the main contact for departmental finance staff, pro-actively encouraging best practice and training staff as required. They will oversee the finances of the School, advising on financial planning, monitoring expenditure and producing financial management information. The Senior Finance Advisor works closely with the School Finance Manager, in particular the preparation of annual budgets and regular financial forecasts. The Senior Finance Advisor also manages and reports on the finances of a number of School-wide activities. They may be required to deputise for the School Finance Manager on occasion.

Your Skills The role would suit a qualified accountant with experience of providing financial advice to non-financial staff and experience of the use of accounting software packages. Experience of working the Higher Education sector is not essential.

Funding for this post is available for a permanent appointment.
