University of Bristol Hiring for Deputy Head of Student Counselling Job at Bristol, England Full Time

The role

Student Counselling Service (SCS) is looking to appoint a Deputy Head of Student Counselling, to work alongside 3 other Deputy Heads, in providing the day to day operational management of the Student Counselling Service.

What will you be doing?

The Student Counselling Service is expanding to meet the needs of students and is working hard to meet the demographic of the student population, and Bristol, and offer much more diverse and inclusive therapeutic support. As a team we are genuinely passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion; it forms a key thread through all of the work we do and we expect the same from all team members that join us.

We are looking for an experienced counsellor who will have significant clinical experience and evidence of significant managerial experience. The successful applicant would need to manage the demands of the service, be a proactive member of the management team and line manage individual counsellors.

Our service operates the One At A Time (OAAT) counselling model, and within that we are open to different modalities. We ask all applicants to gain an understanding of the OAAT model before application to ensure that this model works for you and your modality.

The Student Counselling Service sits within the Education and Student Experience division which has recently undergone a restructuring of student support. This means there is a much more collaborative approach between SCS and the rest of the student services.
