Trainee Accountant (Financial Accounting)

The Trainee Accountant (Financial Accounting) role will support the Finance Operations Manager and Financial Accountants in the provision of these services. The post will be located within the Finance & Procurement section based at the Old Aberdeen campus.

The successful candidate will be provided with training and support towards achieving a professional accountancy qualification, including funding for training courses, books, and time off for study leave as per our trainee accountant protocol.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 4 salary scale in line with the Trainee protocol:

During the first year of graduate training National Spinal Point 20 £25,627 per annum.

During the second year of graduate training National Spinal Point 22 £27,116 per annum.

During the final year of graduate training National Spinal Point 24 £28,756 per annum.

On satisfactory completion of the training period there will be an assessment of performance and a review of any further training or development activities undertaken during the training period. Subject to a satisfactory outcome of this review Trainees will be eligible for consideration for promotion or appointment to a career grade position within the University, normally at the locally determined Grade 6.

Any appointment will be made subject to satisfactory references and probation period.

This role is based in the UK and as such the successful candidate will be required to live and work in the UK.
