Recruitment Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Human Resources for a Recruitment Assistant to support the Employment Services Centre Recruitment function. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual with good organisational and administrative skills. You will be an outgoing person with a flexible approach to work who must be able to work both on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Human Resources is responsible for providing a comprehensive and coordinated HR service to the University community consistent with employment legislation and best practice.
The HR team comprises members of professional staff who are supported by administrative staff, each having responsibility for an individual School/Section. Matters dealt with for each staff category are wide ranging and encompass conditions of employment, discipline/grievance matters, employment law, industrial relations, management/employee information and general advice, job evaluation, promotion/grading, staff development and training and staffing policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will undertake duties relating to the recruitment of staff which include all administrative aspects of the recruitment process, preparation of contracts of employment for signature, issuing new starter information packs, administering new starter process dealing with administration for relocation expenses, preparing PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) checks where appropriate and immigration activities in relation to new members of staff.
You should have a good general education with practical experience within an HR environment. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of current employment legislation and best practice guidelines in relation to staffing matters.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 3, £20,092 – £22,847 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.

This role is based in the UK and as such the successful candidate will be required to live and work in the UK.
