Successful candidates will join a team of HR Partners and Advisers working to support the staff of our Professional Services and Academic areas. These roles are part of the Human Resources section within the Directorate of People which is part of the University’s Professional Services.
As part of these opportunities we may consider appointment at Graduate Trainee level (Grade 4) or experienced HR Adviser level (Grade 5). For appointment to Graduate Trainee, trainees will normally be expected to undertake a period of up to two years on-the-job training before they will be considered for appointment or promotion to a career grade position within the University (Grade 5). During the training period incremental progression will apply on the anniversary of the individual’s appointment.
Successful candidates will have a specific responsibility for assisting the HR Partner(s), Operations/Partnership, in providing an appropriate level of support to a specified area of the University on the full range of operational HR activities.
For the opportunity at Graduate Trainee level, you will be a graduate and ideally be CIPD qualified (or working towards gaining this qualification).
For the opportunity at experienced HR Adviser level, you will be graduate and ideally CIPD qualified with significant demonstrable experience (more than 2 years) of working independently at HR Adviser level.
For HR Adviser (Graduate Trainee) appointment will be at Grade 4, spinal point 22 (£25,217 per annum).
Graduate Trainees will normally be expected to undertake a period of up to two years on-the-job training before they will be considered for appointment or promotion to a career grade position within the University. During the training period incremental progression will apply on the anniversary of the individual’s appointment. On satisfactory completion of the training period there will be an assessment of performance and a review of any further training or development activities undertaken during the training period. Subject to a satisfactory outcome of this review the Graduate Trainee will be eligible for consideration for promotion or appointment to a career grade position within the University. The career grade for the HR Adviser position is Grade 5.
HR Adviser appointment will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5, £28,332-£31,865 per annum and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.

Any appointment will be made subject to satisfactory references and probation period
This role is based in the UK and as such the successful candidate will be required to live and work in the UK.
This post does not meet the minimum requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route. We are therefore unable to consider applicants for this post that require sponsorship to work in the UK.
