Sustainability Education & Engagement Officer

Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent

Based central Reading, Berkshire/ Remote (hybrid place of work available)

Salary £28,000 – £32,000 FTE pa plus benefits

University College of Estate Management (UCEM) is long-standing and leading provider of supported online education. We exist to provide accessible, relevant and cost-effective education which enhances careers, increases professionalism and leads to a better Built Environment; we are also very passionate about sustainability. Operating from the UK and Hong Kong we have a global reach, and at any one time over 3,500 students are studying online with us.

UCEM has identified sustainability as one of its strategic priorities and is embedding a ‘whole institution’ approach with a mission to be the world’s most sustainable university! This is a new opportunity for somebody who is passionate about sustainability and keen to make a real difference! You will gain experience across a broad range of areas supporting and taking forward, in collaboration with key stakeholders within UCEM, the development of sustainability across the institution.

Your key responsibilities will centre around:

· Deliver projects to support the UCEM Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility statement and Strategic Sustainability Action Plan.

· Engage with staff, students and relevant teams across the institution to support the practical development, adoption and implementation of education for sustainability.

· Organise workshops and seminars delivering events or activities to a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.

· Support the Sustainability Working Group (SWG) to ensure its success, promoting idea sharing, resource development and best practice.

· Prepare and present accessible reports and papers, as required, for institutional committees and external reporting purposes.

To deliver these responsibilities you will need to combine your excellent communication and digital skills, as well as your passion for sustainability. This is all to support the planning and implementation of projects across UCEM as we move towards achieving our mission!
