Universal Music Australia is looking to appoint an Audience and Social Media – Data Analyst.

WHAT’S HAPPENING

The purpose of this role is to widen the scope of the business by identifying and implementing change initiatives for our artists and business across domestic and global markets with a strong focus across social platforms.

This will require consolidation and analysis of multiple data sources, utilising data driven strategy and commercial expertise to make recommendations that shape future digital revenue and marketing strategies.

This role will work closely with marketing managers, external facing teams, global consumer insights teams and senior management to ensure audience identification and amplification is at the forefront of decision making.

YOUR ROLE

Projects & Analysis

Identify, develop, drive, and deliver strategic projects and ad-hoc analysis to drive audience growth and engagement with focus on:

• Identifying industry trends, relevant technology advancements, commercial performance, and consumer insights to drive incremental fan monetisation opportunities
• Product performance analysis across social media platforms and be able to contextualise when providing recommendations
• Organise and present user behaviour updates to relevant stakeholders
• Assist in the building of processes and structures to ensure the team tracks and monitors the lifecycle of projects and campaigns
• Serving requirements of key commercial business units to improve the pitching process to potential customers which rely heavily on consumer and social media insights
• Be the business liaison with the Global Insights team to ensure that the voice of the Australian business is heard when developing global insights projects and improving the consumption tracker. Be the main source of interpretation and communication of this Global Division across the Australian business
• Artist and audience tool maintenance and development where needed
• Continue to challenge the ways of workings and recommend improvements

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• A working understanding of data analytics principles
• A high level of presentation development and delivery
• A strong knowledge SQL database coding (Google Bigquery a plus)
• Experience in drawing insights and formulating recommendations from data
• Experience with social media platforms (Tiktok a plus)
• Knowledge of mathematical and statistical techniques
• An understanding of data warehouses and software used to query, extract and manipulate data.
• Experienced in forming and building business relationships with key stakeholders.
