Universal Civil Construction Hiring for Excavator Operator at Greenville, SC Full Time

Universal Civil Construction (UCC) is currently seeking an experienced excavator operator with pipe excavation experience to join our team. Applicants must have experience with trench excavation for storm drain or utilities, and knowledge of safe and productive excavation.

Job Summary

Experienced Excavator Operator (5+ years experience required). Must have experience running excavator on a pipe crew.

Typical Duties

• Follow safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Performing maintenance checks, equipment inspection, daily track cleaning, fueling and greasing
• Be familiar with excavation plans and machine limitations and follow OSHA safe digging procedures
• Observe verbal communication, hand signals, grade stakes, grade control devices
• Be efficient at loading haul units and/or excavating for storm drain pipe.
• Be able to set up the cut/fill areas to allow maximum safe access for haul units
• Perform manual labor as needed
• Complete all duties as directed by supervisors

Skill, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

• Must have 5+ years experience operating production or pipe excavator.
• Experience carrying grade with excavator.
• Able to maintain control of machine while watching the gauges and surrounding work area including people on the ground
• Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved with civil construction
• Physical ability to walk on uneven surfaces and climb on equipment to inspect and to get to operator’s seat
• Must be able to read and follow all policies and procedures at UCC

Requirements

• 5+ years experience on Excavator
• Able to pass a Drug test
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Have a valid driver’s license
• Must have own reliable transportation to and from jobsite

Pay: $20.00 – $26.50 per hour
