Position Summary:

We are seeking a Medical Accounts Receivable Representative for our billing office. This position is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of health insurance claims with various insurance companies.

Accounts Receivable Representative Responsibilities:

• Research authorizations, work with providers, and manage pended claims promptly.
• Maintain a solid balance of health insurance claims that are 35 average days outstanding.
• Identify non-payment trends or procedural roadblocks and same to Supervisor as needed.
• Prepare special claim projects; maintains project work/communication logs, uses resources effectively, arrange information and files in a useful manner, and meet project deadlines.
• Compose and prepare documentation for appeals.
• Process insurance carrier correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
• Keep current on carrier(s) website information that relates to the practice.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Medical Billing and insurance claim filing experience.
• Familiarity with medical billing software.

Knowledge/Competencies and Skills:

• Proficient knowledge of Medical Terminology; ICD-9 and CPT-4 Codes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Accurate and efficient data entry skills.
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in computer software and database skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
