Role – Divisional Finance Assistant

Contract – 1 year FTC

Salary – £28,000

Here at United Response, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Divisional Finance Assistant to join our South division. You will primarily be working from home but there may be some travel required to divisional offices. As a Divisional Finance Assistant you will report to and provide invaluable administrative support to the Head of Finance (South)and Divisional finance team. You will be responsible supporting the team with data collection and facilitating the flow of information between Services, Areas and the Central Finance Department, which is based at the Head Office in London, as well as providing basic financial support to Area and service staff.

Other key duties include but are not limited to:

• Draft billing instructions based on supporting documentation provided by the DFM, Area and Service Managers
• Update the Income Model on a regular basis using supporting documentation provided, to track billings
• Working to strict deadlines, submit invoicing information to central finance billing team using designated templates
• Liaise with Head Office to check payments received from funders and reconcile with invoices raised for specific funders and resolve invoicing queries
• Facilitate New Starter, Leaver and Mover Forms for people we support from services to Head Office
• Provide simple costings for Area and Service Managers as requested with guidance from the Head of Finance (South)
• Liaise with funders on individual’s contributions for People We Support
• Maintain financial records and databases
• Process Housing Association and service charge income and raise recharge billings where necessary
• Assist in updating and issue budget spreadsheets as appropriate to Area Managers and Service Managers
• Ensure billings, contracts and supporting documentation is stored and filed effectively

You will also be responsible for undertaking any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the job, as determined by the Head of Finance (South)

This role is an imperative part of our organisation therefore we are looking for someone with the following attributes:

• At least 2 years’ experience within a similar role
• Ideally have worked within the social care industry
• Financial experience and knowledge of basic accounting
• Ability to prioritise workload and maintain responsibility
• Have excellent communication skills
• Be highly competent using Microsoft packages
• Well organised with excellent administration skills
