These positions are located in the United Nations Field Peacekeeping Operations, Special Political Missions, Service Centres and Offices as applicable. This role includes responsibilities in sub-functional specialties such as human resource administration, planning, programming/budgeting/Finance, and implementing, monitoring and evaluation of business functions.

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the Young Professionals Programme Examination(YPP)/United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management or related area. No experience is required for candidates that have passed of the Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP)/United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).
Experience in supporting human resources initiatives in a post-conflict environment in the United Nations common system or a comparable international organization is desirable
Experience in applied analytics, business intelligence, information management, statistics, project management, stakeholder management or related area is desirable.
Experience working with ERP systems, such as SAP, is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

The purpose of this job opening is to generate a list of qualified candidates for inclusion in the Associate Administrative Officer, P-2 roster. The entire assessment process takes an average of six months; all applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application (whether successful or unsuccessful) within 14 days of the conclusion of the process. Successful candidates will be placed on the roster and subsequently will be invited to apply for field mission vacancies open only to roster members. Roster membership does not guarantee selection.
