Finance Manager – United Education

Location: Leeds Head Office

We’re looking for an accountant to manage financial and associated administrative functions. Key tasks include financial analysis, monthly invoicing, production of management accounts, cash management, payroll and HR control. We need a self-starter who is very spreadsheet literate.

YOUR TASKS

• Liaise with the development team to obtain invoices and management reporting
• Raise a small volume of B2B monthly invoices to distributors and direct customers, working with the sales team to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Liaise with customers to ensure timely receipt of cash
• Control and input purchase invoices, including expenses
• Reconcile bank accounts and control payments
• Manage liaison with external accountants regarding tax and statutory reporting matters.
• Prepare timely management accounts to produce useful financial information for United Education brands
• Manage financial forecasting including budgets and cashflows.
• Provide support to commercial staff on product pricing.
• Manage and control company HR processes including recruitment, offers, contracts and reviews.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• You are fluent in English and based in the UK, preferably within 30 miles of Leeds
• You are likely to be a part qualified accountant with experience of either large or small company accounting software
• You will be software literate and creative, able to work with existing systems and propose and implement improvements.
• In particular, you will be very familiar with the use of spreadsheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIF functions
• Whilst you may come from any background industry, large or small, you will have enough knowledge to add value immediately.
• You will be able to improve the areas where your skills and knowledge are currently lacking so that you become a true all-rounder
