UNC Health Blue Ridge Hiring for Patient Care Assistant at Morganton, NC Full Time

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing personalized care and support to our patients in a friendly and professional manner. You will be responsible for assisting with basic patient care tasks, maintaining patient records, and helping to create a positive and caring environment. You should be a team player and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Must complete a mental health technician program and obtain an American Association of Psychiatric Technicians (AAPT) level 1 certification with one year of hire.

Experience: No experience required. Must have strong desire to learn.

License/Registration: CPI certification required within 90 days of hire date. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider

Other: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with psychiatric patients in both individual and group settings.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires range of motion within functional limits. Requires frequently: pushing 40lbs; pulling 80lbs; standing; walking; repetitive trunk rotation-standing; manual dexterity; both handedness (both hands must be used); functional vision and hearing; Occasionally lifting 35lbs from floor to waist and waist to eye level; one handed carrying 15lbs; work squatting/crouching; visual color discrimination; and visual depth perception.
