Ultra Electronics Hiring for Trainee Financial Accountant Job at Loudwater, England Full Time

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Trainee Financial Accountant will provide assistance to the Finance Team while studying for a Professional Accounting qualification. Gaining business accounting experience in the following areas:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Overhead & Productivity monitoring and reporting
  • Forecast and budgeting
  • Expense Claim processing
  • Fixed Assets
  • Year End accounting process
  • Stores processes & Stock accountability
  • Purchase Orders
  • Developing the skills and confidence to handle queries and request information from individuals at all levels across the company.
Key Responsibilities
  • Update of Sonar departmental budget files with monthly actuals
  • Monitor and report on time bookings to projects and indirect codes
  • Working with HR to ensure Headcount is accurate and aligned on MyHR and IFS systems
  • Checking Contractor invoices and calculating the monthly accrual
  • Preparing recurring and adhoc journals to support the month end process
  • Completing returns for National Statistics, EC Sales and Intrastat reporting
  • Coding invoices to both Projects and Overheads
  • Processing Barclaycard and Purchasing card expenses and preparing the monthly Barclaycard accrual
  • Adhoc support as required for the forecast and budgeting process
  • Adhoc support to the Business Control team
  • Working closely with the Finance team to constantly review processes & forms, making suggestions for improvements, and assist in updating those where required.
Personal Attributes
  • Studying towards an Accounting Professional Qualification or having studied a Business / Finance / Accounting degree
  • Computer literacy is essential – excellent excel skills ( =sumifs, =vlookups Pivot tables). Familiar with Outlook, Word and Powerpoint
  • Good communicator & attention to detail, focused well organised, calm under pressure
Security Clearance: candidates must meet the minimum criteria required to obtain SC clearance
