Ultra Electronics Hiring for Sonar Software Engineer Job at Adelaide Full Time

As a member of Ultra’s Sonar Software development team, you will be participating in the full software engineering lifecycle of Ultra’s exciting Sonar Projects, including: Hobart Class Destroyer Integrated Sonar System and Integrated Sonar Trainer; Hunter Class Frigate Bow Sonar and Surface Ship Torpedo Defence System; Expendable and Towed Torpedo Countermeasures; and Integrated Undersea Battlespace.

You will engage in new and evolving technologies while collaborating with Ultra’s global network such as Ultra UK and Ultra Canada, providing opportunity for travel and training in order to transfer the necessary software skills, information and technology to enhance Ultra Australia’s Industry capability.

• Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design.
• Experience in software development under Linux & Windows.
• Competency in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Java.
• Proficient in software configuration management practices.
• Experience using a Version Control Systems (VCS), preferably Git; and
• Thorough understanding of networking principles.

• Exposure to Digital Signal Processing algorithms and techniques.
• Proficiency using Matlab (or equivalent).
• Experience with embedded software development environments and operating systems.
• Familiarity with Linux shell scripting languages and ability to execute and debug graphical Linux applications remotely.
• Experience in the design, development and integration of complex multithreaded real time software.
• Experience with OpenCL/CUDA.
• Experience with containerisation technologies, e.g., Kubernetes, docker, VMs; and
• System configuration management software e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in an applicable discipline (e.g., Systems, Software, Electronics, Computer Science or IT).
