UF Health Central Florida Hiring for Software Interface Engineer at Leesburg, FL Full Time

Software Interface Engineer

Administer, maintain and provide ongoing support for health care interfaces between UF Health Central Florida systems, which use standard interface engines. This full-time position will require access to confidential data to perform job responsibilities. On-call support responsibilities are required.

Responsibilities include:

· Interface engine software installation; monitoring, configuration, upgrades and patching; gathering interface statistics for performance monitoring; testing back-up and recovery procedures; scripting; problem identification and resolution; and documentation.

· Assisting in the research, analysis and recommendation of standards, procedures and new technologies to improve interface engine reliability, performance and recovery.

· Assessing project proposals for compliance with interface standards, risk, implementation and ongoing support requirements.

· Ability to meet proposed timelines.

· Performing the role of lead Interface Engineer for assigned projects.

· Organizing and leading meetings.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in information technology preferred.

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:

• Must be able to read, write in, speak and understand English.
• Two years of programming experience interfacing data between systems, including using HL7, XML and other interface protocols; interface mapping; communications; and networking protocols.
• Hands-on experience with the following products is desired: eGate interface engine, OPENlink interface engine, Oracle, SQL, JCL, PL/SQL, SQL*Plus and operating systems (such as z/OS, AIX and Windows).
• Familiarity with the following products is a plus: Microsoft Office, Oracle Application Express, Perl and SAS.
• Must work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve corporate objectives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
