The Chief MedicalInformation Officer (CMIO) is responsible for providing clinical leadership forhealth information technology at Venice Family Clinic (VFC) and providesclinical oversight of implementation and maintenance of the electronic healthrecord (EHR). They collaborate with theclinical, program and administrative teams to identify new interfaces, evaluateexisting programs and determine which programs and clinical interventions bestserve VFC’s health information system. The CMIO develops and implements training programs with the Clinic’s EMRtrainers to train all VFC staff medicalproviders on electronic health record and health information technology usedfor direct patient care. Clinical careaccounts for a minimum of 60% of the CMIO’s work duties; administrative andmanagement supervisory responsibilities account for the other 40%.
