Summary:
Supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function. Provides staff and community education and preceptor plans.

Work Schedule:

• Full Time, 80 hours / pay period
• Flexible

Responsibilities:

• Ensures readiness of crews and fleets. Supervises daily staffing assignments. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Provides patient care when necessary.
• Provides internal and external education programs. Helps review policies and procedures. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Monitors clinical progress of staff. Identifies trends and coordinates improvement processes through clinical QA/QI programs.
• Provides outreach education community service through liaison responsibility with community first response partners.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

The pay range for this position is: $27.61 – $41.41 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant’s relevant experience.

UCHealth offers a Five Year Incentive Bonus to recognize employee’s contributions to our success in quality, patient experience, organizational growth, financial goals, and tenure with UCHealth. The bonus accumulates annually each October and is paid out in October following completion of five years’ employment.

Requirements:

• 
  Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or GED. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  Required Licensure/Certification: Current and active National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (NREMT-P) certification within 1 year of hire. Colorado EMT-P certification within 90 days of hire. Instructor in ACLS, PALS, BLS or PHTLS within 18 months of hire. BLS and ACLS required. Valid driver’s license required.
  Minimum Experience: 2 years of relevant experience.

  BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
