About the Team
Uber Advertising’s vision is to offer the most marketplace-centric advertising to connect Uber’s platform users (eaters, riders, and earners) with advertisers. Uber Advertising’s platform brings together location based and shopping data with closed loop attribution across its mobility and delivery channels for performance and brand campaigns, enabling advertisers to engage with our consumers through the entire marketing funnel – from awareness through purchase to loyalty and advocacy for Uber users.
At Uber, we have set up a new Uber Advertising division to spearhead the growth of its advertising business. By building a dedicated advertising organization and a suite of advertising products, Uber Advertising will enable merchants and brands to reach and convert its highly engaged user base across its Mobility and Delivery platforms in 32 markets.
About the Role
In this role, you will be part of our growing Uber Ads team, reporting to the Finance & Strategy Lead for Uber Ads. You will help scale the financial reporting, analytics, and planning capabilities and empower decision makers across our different business units and functions.
What You’ll Do
Financial planning and analysis: work closely with the finance organization and with regional business leaders to develop financial forecasts and operational goals, apply business judgement and financial insights to help with decision making
Think strategically and implement: the models we build aid in decision making and strategy – we operationalize our insights and support daily execution
Monthly close: report and analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and plan – use insights to iterate on forecasts and create/discuss potential action plans with cross-functional collaborators
Process improvement: help improve our planning processes and ensure finance best practices spread through the organization. Work closely with accounting to provide input on management reporting needs and better understand our actuals
Innovate: we will push the boundaries beyond traditional forecasting. Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skills
Special projects: new initiatives always come up, you will have the chance to contribute on product launches, business partnerships, cross-border strategy, etc.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in finance, data analysis and/or operations
- Demonstrated ability in data analysis, finance, operations or consulting
- Proficiency with SQL and/or Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years’ experience in data heavy role
- Experience with financial forecasting and modeling
