About the content editor role

In this role, you’ll be reviewing, editing, re-writing and organizing sections, SEO optimizing, finalizing, and publishing content and videos according to our guidelines and specifications.

You’ll be working with an industry-leading team with a focus on producing the absolute best content online that satisfies users beyond our competitors.

Content editing responsibilities

• Adhere to our editing and SEO optimization guidelines

• Review written content for spelling, grammar, conciseness, and idea flow to ensure the content meets our requirements and follows the outline provided to the writer.

• Evaluate each piece for SEO quality including properly formatted paragraphs, titles, headers, article completeness, and competitiveness (using third-party tools).

• Write sections the outline or author missed

• Rewrite sections for SEO optimization, clarity, flow, or to remove repetitiveness.

• Provide regular feedback to the writer to help them improve their work.

• From the final written piece, create a transcript that will be used to make the video format of the written content.

• Improve user experience and engagement

• Help maintain content standards, guidelines, and procedures

Qualities we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience editing and/or writing

• 1+ years of experience with SEO optimization

• Comfortable and experienced in rewriting and fixing existing work that is not up to par

• Extremely organized, detail-oriented, with a strive for perfection

• Strong editor and proofreader – you have an eye for catching the slightest grammar and punctuation errors.

• High ownership and autonomy – you take pride in your work and push through any difficulties to deliver high-quality results.

• Excellent writing skills – the ability to clearly communicate without filler or unnecessary sentences.

• Strong researching skills – ability to write detailed and organized notes when researching, and knowing what information is vital in a large corpus of data.

• Always learning – you are extremely curious and willing to learn every day and ready to go deep to find the best and most accurate information possible.

• High ambition and passion – you’re a go-getter who takes initiative, over-delivers, and is extremely passionate about doing your best work.

Preferred qualifications

• 5+ years experience editing, writing, SEO optimization

• Degree in relevant field or experience with a high GPA

• HTML experience is a plus

• Experience with SEO and industry tools

• Photoshop or other image editing software is a plus

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
