TUI Hiring for Finance Manager – Accounting Job at Luton, East of England, England Full Time

Reporting into the Finance Controller – Accounting & Reporting – IT, as Finance Manager – Accounting – Group IT you will be responsible for the management of the central accounting team that sit within TTGSL, the UK part of TUI Group’s IT operating entities.

As a key part of the Group IT Finance team you will manage a team of Finance Analysts, each aligned to a specific Domain, focussed on the accounting and maintenance of the ledger for TTGSL. Working closely with the wider IT Finance team you will ensure that all major aspects of financial accounting & control are completed in-line with Group accounting deadlines and policies, ensuring the integrity of the entities financial information.

The role will provide reporting for Group IT to the central All Other Segments (AOS) and FP&A teams at TUI AG.

With process improvement a key aim for the team the role will involve introducing and improving upon existing internal controls and procedures to streamline business activities, carrying out analysis to identify how the department might continue to develop. It will also involve compliance work as well as liaising with external auditors.

About the Job

Monthly – TTGS

• Overseeing the completion of month end for TTGSL, ensuring that monthly financials are accurate, completed on time, understood and variances explained
• Overall ownership of TTGSL SAP ledger and HFM maintenance, making sure that month end SAP closure deadlines are met and HFM actuals and forecast submissions and commentary are provided in-line with group expectations
• Supervise and review of month end processing in TTGSL which includes reviewing and approving journals, ensuring intercompany balances are agreed and balance sheet accounts are reconciled, reviewed and approved
• Manage the production of consolidated monthly management accounting information pack for Group IT, which includes P&L and Capex. This will require regular contact with Domain Financial Controllers to understand and evaluate their costs
• Manage the production of consolidated monthly Group IT Reporting – working closely with the wider IT Finance Team you will be responsible for the consolidated reporting of the Group IT entities that are part of the AOS Division in the Group structure. This will require regular contact with Domain Financial Controllers to understand and evaluate their costs and will include but not be limited to:
  • Month end flash reporting
  • Variance analysis and commentary
  • Monthly forecasting of EBIT and Cash
• Responsibility for the headcount reporting and payroll postings in TTGSL, working alongside Group IT domains finance team to ensure costs are presented in the correct domain and in-line with HR expectations
• Prepare monthly AOS reporting slides
• Collaborate with the TUI InfoTec finance team based in Germany to ensure that Total Group IT costs is understood across the UK and Germany and that costs are not double counted when being cross charged between Group IT domains
• Monthly Cashflow management for TTGSL, ensuring Receipts and Payments forecast and HFM cashflow load are submitted to the relevant personnel

Budget and 3YP – TTGS

• Production of budgets for TTGSL Overheads and recharged cost centers, working with cost centre owners to prepare challenging but realistic budgets and 3 year plans. Supporting and also challenging the function owners on the assumptions made in the budget
• Oversee consolidation of TTGSL Budget

Ad Hoc

• Work with TTGSL Finance team to drive process improvement by developing common approaches to the way in which we manage our approach to end-to-end financial reporting
• Work with and support Group Financial Accounting team with identifying and resolving any accounting issues, promoting communication of developments and considering accounting and reporting implications. Ensure the integrity of HFM reporting for TTGSL
• Provide support to Group FP&A team with analysis for quarterly external reporting
• Working with group tax to provide analysis and evaluation for Group Management recharge to ensure tax compliant for the group statutory accounts and realization of available R&D credits
• Preparation of the TUI Travel Group Solutions Ltd statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with latest International financial reporting standards (IFRS)
• Work with auditors as part of the quarterly reviews and Year End audit
• Manage Analysts; provide objectives, reviews and constructive feedback as well as working together on long term development and career plans

About you

• A qualified accountant (or QBE) with proven experience of managing a ledger end to end, including management of balance sheets.
• Confidence to work with and challenge senior management.
• Ability to develop and build good working relationships with both Financial and non-Financial colleagues at all levels.
• Be able to work autonomously with little support, with the ability to use own initiative to solve problems.
• A proven track record of developing processes and reports and ability to improve operational efficiencies.
• Good excel and powerpoint skills
