Truetox Laboratories, LLC Hiring for Bioengineer Full Time

Summary:

Bioengineers maintain and troubleshoot complex analytical testing equipment, such as LC-MS/MS, that is used in toxicology testing. They also devise and conduct experiments to solve assay problems, and develop new, or improve existing methods related to high complexity testing.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the optimal performance of LC-MS/MS equipment through routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Aid in maintaining inventory for the laboratory, daily maintenance that includes but is not limited to the cleanliness of workstations, temperature checks, and proper storage and preparation of reagents.
• Under the direction of the Technical Director and in accordance with standards established in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), perform laboratory experiments across a broad range of assays relating to high complexity method development (LC-MS/MS) and instrument validations.
• Plan and conduct experiments and interpret their results to Technical Director.
• Perform method development and assist with validations. Operate laboratory instruments and equipment. Perform moderate to high complexity studies using mass spectrometry.
• Keep meticulous and organized records of research specimens, developed tests, instrument logs, and studies.
• Identify problems that arise in method development and validation that may adversely affect test performance or ing of test results and immediately notify supervisors.
• Conduct and document appropriate quality control and assurance procedures. Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Lab Sciences, Chemistry, Biology or related field.

• Ability to responsibly follow laboratory protocols and processes autonomously, consulting with supervisor/manager when needed.
• Knowledge of basic clinical laboratory equipment such as pipette, balance, centrifuge, pH meter, etc.
• Ability to work with self-discipline, good judgment, and independence while performing moderate to high complexity experiments.
• Technical excellence and attention to quality and detail.
• Previous experience with LC-MS/MS is desirable, but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $23-$27 an hour (commensurate with experience)
