True Friends is currently looking for an individual to fill the role of Finance Manager with our Finance department at our Annandale location.

This position is full-time and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

The Finance Manager is responsible for all financial functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial assistance, along with planning, implementing, and managing overall accounting strategy, financial reporting, and compliance for both True Friends 501c (3) and True Friends Foundation 501c (9).

Duties and Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:

• Maintain all financial records and statements including, general ledger, journal entries, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital asset recognition and reconciliation, trust account statements and reconciliation, fixed asset activity, debt activity, internal controls, bank account maintenance, capital budgets, chart of accounts and month end reconciliation
• Monitor, analyze, and report accounting data internally and externally
• Set up and monitor accounting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Adhere to generally accepted accounting principles and ensure others are too
• Ongoing cash flow, budget, and expense management and forecasting
• Assist departments with expense analysis, allocation, and general account guidance
• Support departments with finance guidance
• Manage audit including field work, 990’s, and other finance regulatory requirements
• Serve on committees and other teams as assigned
• Stay up to date with industry trends, rules, and regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Finance Manager:

• Must have working knowledge of and experience working with accounting software / databases
• Must have an understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• Must have a sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
• Must be detailed-oriented, self-motivated, and take personal initiative to prioritize and complete projects
• Must have strong proven analytical skills
• Must be forward thinking and motivated to operate in a cloud-driven environment
• Must have the skills to multi-task and manage challenges
• Must have good organizational and time management skills
• Must have strong proven written and verbal communication skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with other departments

• Must have functional computer skills with the ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, and other software
• Experience with Campwise registration and datalink reporting software helpful
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and Management Reporter software preferred
• Must be able to pass organizational background checks
• College degree in finance or accounting preferred or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• 3+ years of non-profit finance / accounting experience preferred
