JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a successful track record of leading and supervising an accounting department of at least 5 direct reports and will possess the following skills:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Responsibilities:
· Supervise the monthly financial close on a 7-day timeline.
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
· Manage and coordinate the year-end audit in conjunction with the corporate accounting team.
· Prepare, review, and coordinate the posting of journal entries.
· Collaborate with the operations team to prepare and record the monthly percentage-of-completion (POC) schedules and ensure proper accounting for revenue recognition for projects.
· Supervise the process of performing and reviewing monthly reconciliations.
· Perform financial analysis and reporting monthly with the corporate accounting team.
· Understand the internal control process and implement best practices and procedures.
· Reconcile and review intercompany activities monthly.
· Weekly reporting and forecasting of A/R detail and AP disbursements
· Oversee billing department to ensure timely billing and drive customer collections
· Review and approve weekly payroll files
· Review payables balances and prioritize vendor payments in conjunction with cash management
· Review inventory movement during each month to ensure balance is properly reconciled
· Manage the fixed asset rollforward on a monthly basis
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Business Requirements:
· Minimum of 7-10 years of work experience in the field of Accounting.
· Must have a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role with the ability to supervise, train and motivate a team of 6-10 reports.
· Experience in streamline accounting processes and implementation of policies and procedures.
· Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Strong Analytical and research capabilities.
· Successful resolution of issues in an efficiently and effective manner.
· Demonstrate leadership and development of new processes to streamline productivity.
· Strong Accounting technical knowledge and experience.
· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in the United States in Accounting or related field.
· CPA license.
People Requirements:
· Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively across multiple mediums (verbally, through email, etc.), including experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership/c-suite level.
· Strong customer service skills, including an ability to proactively address internal and external customer issues and concerns and ability to forge strong working relationships with various departments.
· Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints.
