Position Summary:

This position will assist in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. The staff accountant will be responsible for the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts including the reconciliation between the subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. The staff accountant will be a key contributor in helping the corporate accounting team complete the month-end account reconciliations, balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports analyses and preparation.

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries for transactions within the line of business
• Review and reconcile various balance sheet accounts
• Understand, document and communicate relatively complex transactions
• Maintain knowledge of and ensure all aspects of accounting are in compliance with established policies and procedures as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Effectively and efficiently analyze and report on results of operations and/or budget variance for areas of responsibility
• Prepare schedules for annual audit
• Special projects as assigned
• Manage multiple tasks and deadlines with relatively minimal oversight
• Participate in corporate accounting team’s strategic planning sessions

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Business
• CPA exam candidate or Eligible to sit for the CPA exam preferred
• Computer software proficiency with Excel, Word, and accounting research tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

· Strong attention to detail, research and follow up skills

· Able to clearly document processes and effectively communicate process to internal users

· Experience with Oracle/NetSuite a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
