POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Assistant Provide visibility for all aspects of production to other departments. Will work closely with production staff on the establishment of order priority in accordance with manufacturing requirements and products received. He/she is also expected to conduct all matters in a manner consistent with the company’s Corporate Values of Innovation, Caring, Capable, and Collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Production Admin
Assist with inventory control of ingredients necessary for manufacturing animal feeds.
Liaise with logistics and purchasing and QA department on availability and quality requirements of ingredients.
Work closely with Logistics and Purchasing department to ensure timely deliveries of ingredients.
Work closely with QA department to ensure implementation of QA program of the facility.
Maintain files and production records.
Enter data into the computer software in an accurate and in a timely manner.
Test grain samples and input result information into LIMS.
Constant quality awareness to ensure that all Company policies and procedures are followed.
Support the Plant Manager in the planning and budgeting process through the creation of spreadsheets, documents, etc.
Ensure production meets CFIA requirements
Attend and participate Safety meetings.
Customer Service
Assisting with coverage for team members in Customer Service, including taking and processing orders in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Knowledge in inventory control.
Numeracy and accuracy
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Strong problem and decision-making abilities.
Lift up to 25kgs.
Willingness to be coached and learn processes.
Competent computer skills including Microsoft word & Excel
Use and understanding of English Language.
Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly bend and twist, open and close lids, climb ladders, and lift 50 pounds.
Physical Work Conditions: Often exposed to loud sounds, distracting noise levels, and dusty environment.
