Division: Trotter & Morton Building Technologies

Trotter & Morton Building Technologies Inc. is currently looking for hard working, committed Apprentice Electricians – All Levels for full-time commercial work in Calgary, AB.

Trotter & Morton Building Technologies is a multi-service construction company providing electrical, mechanical, and metal work for a wide variety of commercial, civil, and industrial building projects. Roles and Responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
Pull wire through conduits and through holes in walls and floors
Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment
Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels
Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits
Test continuity of circuits using test equipment
Connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signaling devices and heating and cooling systems
Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records

Required Skills

Ability to show up to work on time everyday
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Ability to learn on the job
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Ability to take orders and instructions
Ability to prioritize workloads and utilize planning & time management skills to adhere to strict deadlines
Ability to bend ¾ inch, 1 inch, 1 ¼ inch, 2 inch, 4 inch pipe
Ability to run EMT pipe
Ability to run PVC pipe
Ability to run Cable Trey
Ability to run Rack

Required Experience

Completion of appropriate years of schooling
Apprentice experience and applicable hours
Commercial and electrical experience considered an asset
