Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Junior IT Support Technician to join our team. This entry level position will provide first tier help desk support to staff and assist with the administration of IT accounts, systems, and the cloud-based network infrastructure.
As a member of a small IT team, you will get to wear lots of hats and gain plenty of valuable experience providing IT services and support to staff located throughout BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and remote field locations. This position reports to the IT Manager who works remotely from the Okanagan, but the successful candidate may work out of any of our primary office locations (Vancouver, Kamloops, Prince George, Terrace, Edmonton, or Calgary), with remote working from home opportunities.

Triton’s offices are geographically situated to provide effective service delivery within Western Canada. Our multi-disciplinary team comprises environmental professionals specializing in aquatic and terrestrial biology, soil science, vegetation ecology, environmental assessment, environmental auditing, environmental monitoring/inspection, and resource management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
Provide first tier technical support to staff working in Windows and IOS environments (including troubleshooting, problem solving, and software installs/ updates).
Responding to and resolving IT support tickets; escalate unresolvable support requests to second tier support.
Assist with administration of IT user accounts and systems.
Analyze, diagnose, and document problems reported by end-users.
Create, maintain, and document processes, procedures, and training documents.
Assist other IT staff to support new IT initiatives or other IT tasks as required.
Take part in the performance management and development process to set, monitor, and complete work goals, ensuring fulfillment of objectives in a timely fashion.
Act as backup to other IT positions where training and experience will allow
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Post-Secondary education preferred (College Diploma or University Degree) in a computer related field, or equivalent experience.
Some experience providing hardware/software support and maintaining personal computers and related hardware, software, printers, and networks
Support-level knowledge in Windows 10 Operating Systems to current
Support-level knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 applications
Customer service-oriented attitude with good problem-solving skills, excellent decision making, and the ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks
Interpersonal skills necessary to work well with others
Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to relate to business and technical users, exercising tact and diplomacy
Ability to create documents in a concise, clear manner to be easily interpreted by the appropriate user
Ability to accept change and adapt to shifting organizational challenges and priorities
Self-motivated and willing to work odd hours and overtime to complete critical tasks in a timely manner
Ability to work independently, manage time and workload efficiently, to ensure projects are completed on time; well organized
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive files and materials
Must be able to lift 50 lb., twist, bend, and work in awkward positions
Some travel between offices may be occasionally required periodically
Class 5 general Drivers Licence
