Position Overview

The Financial Accountant will administer and manage the overall accounting activities, produce financial results which accurately reflect the company’s financial position and manage the daily operations of the accounting team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly financial closing cycle in accordance with the month-end checklist and on time Head Office (HO) reporting submission

• Preparation of monthly Financial Statements, reconciliation and rectifying identified errors

• Periodic intercompany reconciliation and difference analysis

• Ensure accurate accounting classification of all expenditures

• Oversees Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions

• Monitor business transactions to formulate best practice processes to optimise financial control environment

• Preparation of weekly/monthly regular reports as required

• Treasury function management

• Compilation of monthly BAS returns and annual FBT returns lodgement Manage year-end closing process, Statutory Audit process and liaise with external auditors

• Support Internal Audit process and preparation of required samples

• Continuous improvement and implementation of new processes, projects and procedures as and when required

• Accept ad hoc duties and facilitate change as directed by Finance Manager or Finance Director.

Qualifications, Experience & Characteristics

• Minimum 5 years accounting experience in a Commercial environment, preferably in a Multi-national or IT organisation

• CPA or CA qualified or currently undertaking with a desire to complete

• A natural leader with a proven track record of working under deadlines and high-level pressure

• Strong analytical skillset and ability to understand complex business issues and provide constructive solutions

• Keen to learn, attention to detail, conscientious and helpful

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and excellent time management skills

• A dynamic personality with a willingness to accept responsibility both within & outside job function is essential (can-do attitude)

• Ability to work in a team environment, accountable and reliable

• Demonstrate proficiency with Advanced Microsoft Excel

• Experience working with Dynamic 365 Business Central and Xero will be beneficial
