Trellis Advisors is looking to hire a talented and highly motivated Accounting Manager. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the manager will play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as the company continues to enhance its quality offerings and undergoes rapid growth. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, participatory manager who, along with the VP of Finance, will lead the Finance and Accounting Teams, and will have a successful record of accomplishment in setting priorities; as well as excellent analytic, organization, and communication skills.

Primary Objectives
As the Controller, you will be responsible for:

Detailed Job Duties/ Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of day-to-day accounting operations and oversee all transactions related, but not limited to, payables, receivables, payroll, tax preparation, and financial reporting for 3 entities.

• Maximize the accounting department’s use of software and integrates other accounting and fund management software into accounting processes and procedures;

• Manage the migration and transition of accounting software for PCs. Ensuring the accuracy of the data during migration.

• Oversee the maintenance and further development of robust reporting that provide for timely and reliable financial and operational information for internal decision-making processes, including analyzing company’s financial results with respect to cash, profits, trends, costs, and compliance.

• Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of financial information to appropriate groups, including internal parties, investors, government regulators, and outside agencies.

• Manage the annual financial audit process performed by our independent CPA firm.

• Work closely with VP of Finance to develop, analyze, document, and implement internal controls; and enhance accounting and finance policies, processes, and procedures to comply with US GAAP.

• Partner with VP of Operations on all aspects of payroll and employee expenses: accounting, benefits reconciliation, 5500 Filings, ACA Reporting, payroll reporting, payroll taxes & filing, garnishments, expense reporting/ reconciliation, and other payroll/ employee related activities.

• Quarterly reconciling of W-2’s, analyzing error reports and tax verification letters.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of city, state, local and federal regulations affecting payroll.

• Review and maintain all payroll procedures to maximize internal controls.

Skills Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA Preferred

• 10 or more years of related experience

• Strong Excel skills

• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills

• Experience with Quickbooks Online and ERP migration

Pay: $85,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
