SENIOR PURCHASING COORDINATOR

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Senior Purchasing Coordinator to join our team in Hickory, MS.
Job Summary:
A Purchasing Coordinator is an administrator who helps in selecting and purchasing good and services. This is achieved by gathering and screening information about suppliers, prices, and products while considering quality, price, reliability, and technical support. This position will answer directly to the Accounting Manager but work closely with every department to ensure budgets and goals are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Verifying purchase requisitions by engaging in comparison of items requested to master list, clarifying vague items, and recommending other options.
Managing supplies and tracking budget expenses while keeping data organized, and readily available to upper management.
Facilitating and enriching vendor relationships to increase buying power and cost controls.
Forwarding inventory items that are available by verifying stock and scheduling of delivery.
Preparation of purchase orders by verifying price and specifications; getting requisitioning departments approval; getting suppliers recommendations for substitute items.
Procuring purchased items by sending orders to suppliers; monitoring, as well as, expediting orders.
Verifying item receipts by doing a comparison of items received and items ordered; resolving shipments errors with suppliers.
Authorizing payment for purchased items by sending receiving documentation.
Keeping information easily accessible by document sorting and filing.
Providing information on purchasing planning and control through the collection analysis, and summary of data and trends.
Accomplishing purchasing and organization goals by finishing related results as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business related field.
Minimum two years of relevant work experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Applicants must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle check.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Analytical thinker with the ability to research, problem solve, and resolve reconciling items through applying appropriate offsets.
Customer service focus and team player mentality, with the ability to drive communication with operations.
Demonstrated ability to learn and then routinely apply policies and procedures without daily instruction and under general supervision.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment at one time along with the ability to embrace change.
Question past practice while performing daily tasks and proactively share concerns with supervisor.
Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative manner.

Conscientious and detail-oriented to produce accurate financial data with a sense of urgency and follow-through.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and efficiently (oral and written) with internal and external customers.
Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Word), HBS, various vendor or provider websites and databases.
Ability to develop new approaches, streamline processes and create positive customer interactions.
Identify confidential information and maintain strict confidentiality of information.
Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance.
Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
