We are one of the South’s largest dealers with 4 locations in Mississippi and Louisiana. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Controller/Senior Accountant to join our team in Hickory, MS location.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Collecting, entering, interpreting, and reviewing financial information.
· Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
· Inventory Management with extensive exposure to Purchasing, Accounts Payable and IPO Systems.
· Strong Tax Accounting skills.
· GAAP experience.
· Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets.
· Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
· Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
· Experience and personality to build relationships with a multitude of lenders.
· Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
· Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
· Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
· Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
· Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
· Secures financial information by completing database backups.
· Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
· Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
· Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting.
· Establish and develop relationships with management, external partners, and stakeholders.
· Ensure compliance with industry and company financial standards and practices.
· Maintain cost accounting for all programs, products, and services.
· Perform account reconciliations and maintain general ledger.
· Prepare for and coordinate external financial audits and tax returns.
· Work collaboratively with management staff to develop, initiate, and monitor strategic initiatives throughout the organization.
· Report to management and provide advice regarding the company and future business decisions that might be impacted.
· Producing financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc.
· Developing long-term business plans based on these reports.
· Process wire transfers and banking procedures as needed.
· Reviewing, monitoring, and managing budgets.
· Developing strategies that work to minimize financial risk.
· Analyzing market trends and competitor pricing and processes.
· Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or 5+ years’ experience in accounting/finance.
CPA, MBA, or master’s degree in accounting/finance preferred.
Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
Experience with financial reporting requirements.
Advanced knowledge of Excel.
Working knowledge of internet, e-mail, chat technologies, as well as the latest spreadsheet, ERP, word processing, accounting, and presentation software packages.
