The Opportunity
Transgrid is experiencing unprecedented times in delivering major transmission infrastructure projects along Australia’s eastern seaboard, to secure the electricity supply and boost sharing across States. New interconnectors will improve supply reliability as ageing coal-fired generation is retired and increase customer access to cheaper, cleaner electricity from renewable generators as energy storage becomes critical.
The Cost Controller is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial information in the cost management system/s and be able to identify issues, implement business solutions and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial operating and transaction processes associated with these $1bn+ projects.
These positions will also be responsible for the development of the VNI West and Sydney Ring Major Project Program of works by: implementation of the systems required to support financial management best practice delivery; producing financial reports; managing project risks and assisting the project team in extracting and analysing financial information.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager – Finance and Project Controls, the Cost Controllers will closely work with the work stream leads (Project Development, Engineering, Community & Stakeholder Engagement, Procurement, Finance, Property and Environmental) to develop and maintain all project financial requirements and to ensure health and successful delivery of these major projects and to drive satisfactory cost, resource and project control management outcomes.
