OVERVIEW
The Senior Human Resources Generalist will assist the location in understanding and communicating company policies and procedures and wage and hour laws; this position is responsible for recruiting Bus Operators, Mechanics, and utility workers, processes payroll using ADP Enterprise, and handles all compliance issues. This is a fast-paced work environment that requires excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:
Knows company policies, procedures, employment regulations, and wage and hour laws
Processes payroll timely and accurately, and manages vacation balance accruals
Implements human resources strategies in all HR functional areas, programs, and practices such as staffing, onboarding, offboarding, and employee relations
Works collaboratively with other managers to ensure mutually dependent program efforts run smoothly and related communications are accurate, consistent, and timely
Engages new hires throughout the hiring process, from interview and selection, background screening and pre-employment drug testing, to forms completion (i.e., acknowledgements, I-9 acceptable documents and signed job descriptions)
Tracks recruitment, leaves of absence, the interactive process, and offboards departing employees including performing exit interviews for all voluntary resignations
Obtains approval on terminations (with documentation) from the Regional Human Resource Director
Proactively supports other HR functions as needed, such as open enrollment, candidate follow-up, and responding to employee inquiries
Maintains orderly files following the new hire checklist template; and separate files for medical, leave of absence, medical certification information, and private requests for accommodation
Maintains confidentiality of all information
Qualifications:
Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required
High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required
Skills and Knowledge Required
Knowledge of employment regulations, and wage and hour laws
Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Suite
Ability to read, understand, and interpret instructions, policies, and procedures
Strong written and oral communication abilities; strong presentation talents
Excellent time management and organizational proficiencies
HRIS, ADP Enterprise, and investigative experience
Education, Licensing, and Certifications Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
Professional Human Resources certification
Experience
Two to four years of relevant human resource experience, including recruiting, selection, knowledge of wage and hour laws, payroll, and employee relations experience
Travel requirement (as a percent): Frequent travel to meet the needs of the business
Pre-Employment Requirements
Must submit to drug testing and a background check
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
This is an onsite position
100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities
Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, and looking at a computer screen.
