For its Montreal-based factory in the Anjou area, Transcontinental Transmag is currently looking for a Production Supervisor, passionate about people and projects, to join their night team.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Chief Supervisor, the Production Supervisor maximizes productivity by leading his/her team to meet customers’ expectations within the established deadlines, taking into account performance measures while promoting a stimulating and harmonious work environment. In addition to his or her role in production, the supervisor applies and prioritizes health and safety measures and is called upon to sit on various committees and to get involved in different projects in line with business objectives.
YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
Occupational Health and Safety
Adopts a safe attitude and behaviors for self and others;
Ensures that his/her team applies the health and safety standards and programs in effect;
Makes appropriate interventions with employees when necessary;
Makes recommendations to improve the work environment and prevent accidents;
Performs floor rounds and audits as requested.
Production Planning and Coordination
Plans, coordinates and controls all operations in conjunction with lead operators and other departments;
Ensures that the production schedule is met and takes action when delays and problems occur;
Ensures that the product meets the customer’s expectations and the quality standards in effect;
Ensures that the equipment is working properly and that maintenance is carried out according to priorities.
Human Resources Management
Coordinates and supervises the work of employees under his/her responsibility and communicates work procedures as well as any production changes;
Develops and empowers team members towards the achievement of objectives and knows how to recognize employees for their work including performance management, annual evaluation, follow-up of non-performing employees, technical development framework, etc.;
Enforces the provisions of the current collective agreement (overtime, substitution and vacation scheduling, administrative follow-up with payroll etc.).
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE:
College degree (DEC) or High School degree combined with work experience deemed relevant to the role
Experience in the printing industry or in a manufacturing or industrial environment and in a unionized environment (an asset)
Spoken and written French, functional English
