Brief job description:

Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for an Apprentice Software Developer with Trafford Council a Metropolitan Borough based in Trafford Council.

Job Description:

As part of the wider IT and Digital Service, the apprenticeship role will involve being part of a professional team delivering a wide range of IT projects and support to internal customers.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

• Support the work of the Developer including ongoing maintenance of web-based applications, and bespoke system integrations along with implementation of automation processes and applications.
• Work in a supported learning environment to develop the skills and knowledge that will assist the post-holder to complete the Level 4 Software Development apprenticeship, undertaking a range of IT and software development opportunities duties to contribute to the achievement of team/service objectives.
• Participate in a development programme on-site and off-site in order to meet the learning objectives of the apprenticeship/training programme in a timely and professional manner. Completing your learning plan on time, which may include passing exams, submitting workbooks and providing evidence of your development.
• Work closely with your apprenticeship learning provider and develop positive relationships with a wide range of colleagues and key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

• Confident and proficient in IT skills and the ability to use a range of software.

• Experience or knowledge and understanding of coding programmes.
• Awareness of Ms Power Platform.
• Understanding of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
• Awareness of current trends and new technologies within the industry.

• Build scripts in line with work instructions for deployment into the relevant environment.
• Design simple software solutions to meet your requirements using tools and techniques.
