Finance Analyst, Retail, London Bridge, Up to £35,000 + Study Support

We are working with a well-known and loved retailer who are looking for a commercially minded junior to join their team!

This role will partner directly with the Marketing team to help them understand Finance and provide strategic insights.

This would be a great next step for a junior accountant looking to jump into a more commercial, business facing role!

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for producing monthly management accounts for Marketing including journal posting, balance sheet reconciliation and variance analysis
• Build relationships across the Marketing team to ensure they get the right financial analysis they need to make the right decisions
• Produce bi-weekly analysis that clearly shows the return on investment from marketing spend (new customers recruited, sales and margin on first order, expected customer lifetime value and payback period)
• Produce the quarterly Marketing cost forecast and annual budget, explaining clearly variances from previous plan
• Production of monthly Rest of World profitability pack
• Ad hoc analysis as required such as assessment of success of promotions

What we are looking for

• Experience of month-end management within a complex business-facing area
• Ability to assimilate and summarise complex commercial information and communicate this in an articulate and concise manner
• Keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Highly numerate
• Experience of general ledger accounting systems
• Ability to learn different operational and data retrieval systems
• Strong skills in working with and manipulating complex data, using Excel and other appropriate programs (Access and SQL experience desirable).
• Strong academic achiever, borne out by successful results
• This role would suit a part-qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA)
