Daycare Preschool Assistant

A Laguna Niguel independent Catholic school, is looking for an outstanding
Assistant in a childcare or preschool. We’re searching for a talented, imaginative, diligent, and team-oriented individual with a variety of classroom competencies and an understanding of developmental traits for young children to join our excellent faculty. The Assistant for Daycare and Preschool will help with Preschool lunch and after-school activities.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as an example of professionalism in a church setting.
• Backs the school’s ideology, rules, and objectives, as well as the decisions made by the Administrators and the Board of Directors.
• Ensures the welfare, health, and safety of every student.
• Keeps any information relating to the school in complete secrecy.
• Follows all guidelines and standards listed in the Parent/Student Handbook; Personnel manual.
• Participate as necessary in faculty and administrative gatherings.

Duties

• Maintains the preschool and daycare room and hallway, including replacing any outdated posters, children’s projects, artwork, etc.
• Prepare and organize all of the preschool daycare’s art and holiday curricula.
• Prepare all sign-in areas for the following day.
• Supervising student sign-in and sign-out procedures for preschool childcare.
• Attend to sick students in the absence of the nurse or the daycare director.
• Completes administrative duties like filing, typing, photocopying.
• Maintain the nurse station at the preschool
• Record any events involving childcare assistants, parents, or children.
• Summer Camp obligations
• Additional tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 12 qualified units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) required.
• Administrative experience is preferred.
• Acquired skills in providing tender loving care and support to children.
• Skills and abilities to maintain friendly and successful communication with parents.
• Ability to establish successful teamwork with other teaching staff.

Environment: The majority of the work is done in a typical daycare or classroom.
Physical: The primary duties include lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling light to moderate weights, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, occasionally bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting, operating office equipment requiring repetitive hand movements and fine coordination, including using a computer keyboard, and verbally communicating to exchange information.
Visual range: See clearly with or without correction.
Hearing: With or without correction, hear within the typical auditory range.
